This is how we set up the diverter pulley for use with our Jack Russells. We use it to bring line to and from the protected machine, it makes for a safe way of running our shorter speed course. Moving the pulley also makes for a quick string tension adjustment. This is of the utmost importance when a dog gets into line or sinks it's teeth into the lure.

This photo shows the lure and line coming from the machine and ready to pass through diverter pulley.

This shows the side view of the set up. I usually put up the fencing right behind the diverter to block the machine from dogs running zone.
